Rachael Lewiton, LCSW
Rachael Lewiton, LCSW, C-SSWS is a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Manhattan. Along with working in a private practice, Rachael also works full-time as the Middle School Counselor at an Independent School on the Upper East Side. Rachael’s previous experience includes working in a variety of settings including in-home family therapy, outpatient mental health clinics, public school settings, and working within the child welfare system.
Rachael has extensive therapeutic experience and has received additional training and certifications in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), brief strategic family therapy (BSFT), mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), and advanced grief counseling. In July 2023, Rachael received her National Association of Social Worker’s certification. Along with her individual clinical work and family therapy experience, Rachael has presented on many topics for parents and classroom teachers, taught a mental health class for middle school students, and currently serves on a committee to determine school accommodations for students with neuropsychological evaluations.
Rachael considers the connection between a client and clinician to be a crucial part of the successful work in therapy. Rachael works from a strengths-based perspective using warmth to create a comfortable space for clients to reach their individual therapeutic goals.
